Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information we collect when you use theumbrellacrew.com, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We have written it in plain language rather than legal boilerplate, because you should actually be able to read it.
The short version
We collect the details you type into our contact form, and anonymous statistics about how the site is used. We do not sell your data to anyone, ever. We do not send marketing emails unless you ask us to.
What we collect
Information you give us
When you fill in the contact form we receive your name, company, email address, phone number, the services you ticked, and whatever you write in the message box. That is all sent to our email inbox so we can reply to you.
If you email, call or message us on WhatsApp directly, we hold that correspondence for as long as we need it to work with you or answer your question.
Information collected automatically
Like almost every website, our hosting and analytics record basic technical information: the pages you visited, roughly how long you stayed, the type of device and browser you used, and the general region you connected from. This is aggregated and does not identify you personally.
Why we collect it
- To reply to your enquiry and, if it goes further, to work with you
- To understand which pages are useful and which are not, so we can improve the site
- To keep the site secure and working properly
We rely on your consent when you submit the form, and on our legitimate interest in running and improving our business for the anonymous analytics.
Who else sees it
We use a small number of third-party services to run the site. Each of them has its own privacy policy:
- Our web host — stores the website files and server logs
- Google Fonts — serves the typefaces used on this site
- Google Analytics — anonymous usage statistics, if enabled
- Our form provider — passes your contact form submission to our inbox
- Google Workspace / Gmail — where your enquiry lands
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We will only disclose it if we are legally required to.
Separately: if you become a client, we may run advertising for you through Meta and Google. That is governed by the agreement we sign with you, not by this policy.
Cookies
This website does not set advertising or tracking cookies of its own. If analytics is enabled, it may set a cookie to tell repeat visits apart. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead anywhere are deleted within two years. Client records are kept for as long as we work together and for seven years afterwards, which is what Indian tax and accounting rules require.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what information we hold about you
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Delete your information
- Stop using it for a particular purpose
Email dmumbrellacrew@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days. There is no charge.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, and access to our email and client accounts is restricted to the two of us. No system is perfectly secure, but we take it seriously and we do not hold payment card details at any point.
Children
This site is not aimed at anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. Material changes will be flagged on the site.
